Josh Rouse is very much like a chameleon. The singer songwriter doesn’t sound like a “Turista” like his album would lead you to believe. The Midwesterner sounds very much like a Spanish staple and he’s nailed the lispy Spanish accent. As authentic as a plate of Spanish tapas, Josh Rouse has acclimated himself in what promises to be one of his best albums since “1972″. His new album, “El Turista” , will see light Feb. 16th via BMI. I have a special place in my heart for the guy. His albums, Dressed Up Like Nebraska” and “Under Cold Blue Stars” got me through some of the toughest spots I’ve ever been in my life and like to see that he’s back in the swing of things.

  1. i’m so glad you said that. those two albums, and 1972, are among the discs that have changed the way i think about life and about music. i’ve depended on them a time or two, as well.
