My Morning Jacket finished up their Winter Tour in Denver on their second night in the frigid city to a sold out crowd. I forgot what kind of kids these guys attract, but I was able to overlook the frat/jock guys that hounded the band and the crowd. Last time I saw My Morning Jacket was when they opened up for Ben Kweller back in 01′ at the Bluebird. They are obviously one of the better American bands out right now and for good reason. I can appreciate them as a band now( experiencing the MMJ Live Show), even though they were a bit on the jammy side, and at times, the show crawled a bit. Jim James has morphed into quite the showman and for good reason. The band has experienced a successful string of albums and the release of their latest live album/DVD Okonos. I was only familiar with the material off of Z , but that didn’t make a difference all of it sounded amazing!
