Westword Music Showcase brought their 23rd part to the Golden Triangle in downtown Denver. The perfect storm of beautiful weather, mix of local and worldwide acts and venues within close proximity rocked it for a full day.

Cut Copy is out performing new material after being out of the game for four years since the release of “Free Your Mind.” The Aussies proved worthy as major headliners for the Denver institution responsible for fond summer memories. Over at the same stage, Bob Moses complimented the synth loving digital act with one of the more vibrant sets of the day with an aggressive late afternoon push.

The Velveteers shredded through their set at Stoney’s in a hulkish display of raw talent. Lead vocalist Demi Demitro is the epitome of rock and roll on every level.

Over at The Church, DeCollage took a number out of the Flaming Lips playbook with a superb use of props and circus approach to live performance.

Lastly, Wheelchair Sports Camp brought serious heat to the cavernous City Hall. MC Kalyn Heffernan laid on her whip-mart rhymes behind air tight trumpet player, Joshua Trinidad and drum kit madman, Gregg Ziemba.
