Few artists use their time in the spotlight to bring awareness to social issues. More often than not, money starved performers cash the check and move on to the next business opportunity.I can’t blame them, because a lot of us would probably do the same. Southern California’s quartet of soul singers, Chicano Batman, took the route that involves both, cashing the check and bringing opportunity to Latinos in the process.

The ATO artists played Denver’s Bluebird Theater last week and checked in with C=T to talk about that Johnny Walker ad, their new album “Freedom is Free” and their influences.
