Strand Of Oaks started off a three performance long weekend here in Colorado with a successful night one at Globe Hall Saturday night.
Timothy Showalter is living his truth daily. Very seldom do you witness a human being beyond grateful for the opportunity to perform live music to the adoration of his loving fans.
The progression of Showalter six albums in is something the songwriter wears as the tats etched on his arms; some grizzly, others delicate.
It’s easy to chalk up Strand of Oaks as a “roots rock” band, but they’re so much more than that. Saturday night displayed a tight-knit group ready for a close-up on a much larger stage.
Tim and the boys did their best at performing the 2019 Dead Oceans released “Eraserland” album material. The only problem was the venue was too small for their size and sound. That was a good problem for concert-goers because they witnessed something truly magical. Capacity at Globe Hall is 250 people, maybe more on a sold-out night. Saturday night was sold out and the sheer experience of capturing “Weird Ways” in such an intimate setting is a moment that will stay with me till I die. It’s a beautiful thing to see one of your favorite bands ascend to greater heights.
