Thievery Corporation sounds good in any language. The longtime purveyors of refined lounge music team up with longtime collaborator and velvety vocalist, LouLou Ghelichkhani. LouLou appears on two tracks from the forthcoming Eighteenth Street Lounge Music (ESL Music) album, “Treasures From the Temple.”
What’s more impressive is the longevity of Rob Garza and Eric Hilton. It’s been twenty years and ten plus full length albums that the duo has churned out. In that span, the twosome have collaborated with artists like: David Byrne, Perry Farrell, The Flaming Lips, Anushka Shankar, Femi Kuti, Seu Jorge and Bebel Gilberto. That doesn’t include any soundtrack appearances.
On the latest sample, “Voyage Libre,” Ghelichkhani delivers a chic French connection in the glossy video release. Fans can look forward to the latest project “Treasures From the Temple” April 20 (insert gratuitous marijuana joke here).
