Multi-instrumentalist Ahmed Gallab is on a mission to spread love. The journeymen musician AKA Sinkane released the first single, “Huh,” off of the forthcoming album, “Life & Livin’ It,” out on February 10th, 2017 worldwide via City Slang.
Sinkane goes full neo-soul in a dapper top hat and backing brass band on “Huh.” The positively charged artist used a socially unrest 1967 Detroit as the backdrop of the accompanying Nick Bentgen directed video. Gallab recorded the album in my hometown of El Paso at the famed Sonic Ranch.
Ahmed goes on to explain the lyrics from the powerful piece:
“”Kulu shi tamaam” is an Arabic phrase meaning “Everything is great!”Times are tough. Struggles have always existed in our lives. But hope, love and the power of positivity help us stay alive. It is whatinspires me to wake up in the morning, make music, and, ultimately, connect with people.
‘To my sisters who ache,
My brothers losing strength
We don’t need tobe saved
We’ll make our own way.
Kulu shi tamaam!
As long as we try
We’re all going to be alright’Big love from the Sinkane family.” – Ahmed Gallab
