My vote goes to No Joy to succeed My Bloody Valentine as shoegazing champs. I’m almost certain the MBV comparison has been made, but I like No Joy’s plush guitar and whispy vocals as being more distinctive than their predecessors. Look for their full length , “Ghost Blonde”, to be released Nov 16th via Mexican Summer . Also, look for No Joy to play Mexican Summer‘s showcase in what should be one of CMJ’s don’t miss shows of the festival next month. Best of all, No Joy is scheduled to (see previous post w/Blackbird Blackbird) tour w/Denver’s Woodsman. Shit, these guys are everywhere.
