Band of Horses played to a very PACKED HOUSE last night. It was impossible to maneuver anywhere and I’m extremely happy for showing up when doors opened. They played all of their heart shattering hits, but that’s not the real story. The quintet played some of their new songs off of their forthcoming album “Infinite Arms”to be released May 18th through Brown Records/Fat Possum Records/Columbia Records. I may have overlooked this release as one of the ones to look forward to this year, but all of that has changed. The new material is as rocking as their earlier tunes, but more inspired and more direction. It doesn’t make sense, because they’ve always been inspired, but it seems as though that a change of scenery has done them good. For all of you SX kids, they’ll be playing twice and my money is on the Central Presbyterian appearance as the better of the two due to the more intimate setting factor.
