The eleven months worth of hype was well worth the wait. Denver got shafted the last time the group was to come through with Grizzly Bear a couple of years ago at the Larimer Lounge. A packed house saw the sextet donning their best winter attire playing an ambitious set to an emphatic crowd. The tight niched group are worth all the praise they’ve had coming their way for a moment. The cohesion they displayed was one I hadn’t seen in a group in quite sometime. Groups often times hit the stage and mistreat their art and play with reckless abandon or little regard for their material. A poignant version of “Two Doves” has made me reconsider my album of the year. I don’t have to be the one to tell you, but catch them if you can on the last leg of their tour.
