The one man band has taken upon different meanings with the inception of Girl Talk, Dan Deacon, and on and on and on. Some sing, some just mix, others do a little of both. James Pants’ ability to weave both beats and lyrics had everybody in the crowd with their jaws on the floor because they assumed that James Pants was a band and that he/they were going to suck. The myriad of impromptu dance moves and music samplings had everybody drooling in anticipation on what his next was going to be. The funny thing was that upon ending his set, I overheard more than one kid in the crowd saying, “man, he should just stay up there.”
