Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks

We have the facts and we’re voting yes! The new Malkmus album has something for everybody. The new album has come full circle. At times, their were acid flashbacks, female backup vocals, some piano, and to quote one of the kids from the Malkmus messageboard:

Anyone notice how each SM solo is completely different from the one previous?

Pave, like REM, always tried to be “new” with each record, but ended up sounding like Pave (good thing).

SM in solo flite bounces all over the place. I like the band unity on this one. Very fluid, like Astral Weeks, all the songs are the same (interesting) song etc.

The new album , Real Emotional Trash, will be released via Matador Records March 18th.
