Sometimes they just kind of slip through the cracks…
Every now and again I have been known to drop the ball. In this case, in my hood. I consider myself to be up to date on most local music in Denver. I know we have a thriving local music scene that is burgeoning at the seams. A lot of people sleep on Denver. I love this city, and “True love is hard to find, sometimes you think you have true love and then you catch the early flight home from San Diego and a couple of nude people jump out of your bathroom blindfolded like a goddamn magic show ready to double team your girlfriend.” Sorry I couldn’t help myself. But I will say that when I was in an other city, I was told that there was this band from Denver that was amazing and was winning all kinds of accolades at SXSW this year. I checked them out briefly and kind of dismissed them. I saw something that reminded me of them and went to their myspace page and listened to their music. I was instantly hooked. I hat to namedrop, but this is the only way I can describe them. The lead singer sounds like Cedric from At the Drive In but imagine them being a little groovier. I have yet to see them , but I am frantically looking forward to their next show at the Grand Marquis theatre which I have yet to visit.
