Hooray for Hometown Heroes!!!

Denver will be in the house this evening at the Grammy Awards. I usually hate watching award ceremonies, but tonight will be different. For once, Denver will have a very strong contingency in Devotchka and The Fray. I have seen one, but not the other. The funny thing is that I have spoken w/Issac Slade from the Fray in late 2004 after his band had just signed a record contract with Epic. It was via the Fray messageboard and people can say what they want about the band, but they truly are the nicest group and hardest working guys out there. You have heard their music in dozens of TV Shows and HBO used How to Save a Life as the song they used to promote new programming. As for Devotchka, they have done things a little differently. They have toured extensively, did a Soundtrack for the movie Little Miss Sunshine, and have slowly become one of America’s most important bands. I hope for the best tonight for both bands tonight and know for a fact that if one of them doesn’t come home with a Grammy, the ballots were stuffed…..
