For those that say that girls can’t rock as hard as the guys, I urge you to watch this video and tell me otherwise.

A Benefit Show for Girls Rock Denver

June 27, 2009

@ Hi Dive, 7 South Broadway Denver, CO 80201

18+/$8 door

Come celebrate women who rock now and help those who’ll rock in the future! Some of the best female rockers in Denver are giving their time and talent to support the first ever Girls Rock Camp in Denver. Proceeds from this benefit concert will go towards music equipment and food for the camp, which will run from July 27 to August 1 and take place at the 6th Avenue United Church of Christ. At camp, 25 girls aged 8-18 will come together to receive instrument instruction, participate in a variety of workshops and activities, form bands, write an original song, and perform their music in a public showcase at the Mercury Café in Denver.

The benefit concert features the incredible talents of Harpoontang (Laura Goldhamer and members of Paper Bird), B.Sous, and burlesque presented by the Clockettes of Lannie’s Clocktower Cabaret. Advanced tickets are available here.

We will also be asking for equipment donations. We have a variety of needs, including guitar and bass amplifiers, drum kits, guitars and basses, cables, microphones, strings, picks, and just about anything else you can think! Equipment can be dropped off at our donation center at the Music Gear Guys music store at 220 South Broadway, Denver, 80209 (720-570-7956).
