Nas-Hip Hop Is Dead

Dan the Homeboy was very nice to give his two cents on Nas’s new album, Hip Hop Is Dead.

Is Hip-Hop dead? This is the question that you should be asking yourself when you listen to this CD. Is it in a state of emergency? Is it truly dead? Nas addresses the case questions with attempts to pay homage the artists of the past those who were overlooked, mismanged & misunderstood during their time. He asks those of today their true intentions for this great essence. He dropped many classic artist names that should have the youth running to get their hands on classic material from the past. Unfortunately this will probably fall be a failed attempt. This generation just doesn’t respect the past enough to keep Hip-Hop alive. Today it is in a repetative state of hustling, a great urban tragedy. Well Nas your attempt hasn’t failed entirely, my son is now 10 & I will let him listen to Spice-1
, The Geto Boyz, Tribe, P.E., Funky Four + 1, The Cold Crush Crew, Run-DMC & other ghost of the past that help construct the great movement in music. Teaching him to appericate the history so there some hope for Hip-Hop. This a great album, well put together I believe his attempt will fall on deaf’s door. Appericated by the 30+ crowd but overlooked by the younger generations,

4 1/2 mics which will be disputed for years
