So I arrived in Austin yesterday, and for once it didn’t feel like it was ridiculously hot…. Immediately thereafter we proceded to eat Tex-Mex food at El Arroyo which is a nice patio restaurant that has great shade… 1st lone star beer , 1st of many to come that tis….. Stubbs was packed of course, and I didn’t want to waste my one time of eating at Stubbs under such hard conditions, I opted for a liquid dinner….Texas Tea is kind of like a long island but the difference is that it is made in Texas, and everything is Texas cold, so the beer bilboards say here…Eagles of Death is what a real ol’ fashion rock band sounds like…The band was put together by Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age fame, and Jeebus , that guy is freaking bigger than Hightower from Police Academy movies, seriously, that guy would snap my femur with two fingers…..The Strokes went on , and I saw them when they first were promoting their first album “Is this it” and they had no stage presence , I think the televangelists had more stage presence…… but this time around, it seems as though they have grown out of their drunken buffoonery that created their asshole persona that nobody every cared for, or maybe it is? Although, their set was not longer than 1hr 15 mins, that’s usually what they’re good for, I mean 2 min Ramones length songs can only stretch so far, but overall, I have to say lead singer Julian Casablancas voice has matured and seems as if has grown up…..I promise to post some pics sometime tommorow…..
