The Hold Steady
I have held steady in my bout to not like this band. Not until recently…. I was driving home and listening to the radio and this song that struck me down like the walls of Jericho. I was so eager to find out who it was, and lo and behold, it was the fucking Hold Steady. It was like finding out that you and your biggest enemy love the same bands and could, potentially, be friends. Alas, Heather lent me their CD and I have given up on hating on Craig Finn’s voice. Yea I had my similar epiphany at Lollapalooza in 07, thought I would kill some time and just check them out and I was damn impressed. It’s not rocket science, but I can tell you for one thing they like to party (and sing about partying).
