BOULDER, CO – January 24th, 2009 – Program Council presents the musical styling of Denver buzz band, Young Coyotes.

January 24th, 2009
Club 156
Starts: 8 PM
Tickets: $8

Less than a year since their inception, Young Coyotes have set fire, not only to the Denver music scene, but have spread their charismatic indie-pop across the country. With a sound akin to The Shins and Arcade Fire, Young Coyotes blend harmonic guitar with beating percussion and shout-out-loud vocals to produce raw, addictive music. This duo composed of guitarist/lead vocalist Zach Tipton, formerly of Moros Eros, and percussionist Adam Halferty (The Axe That Chopped The Cherry Tree and The Chain Gang of 1974) take a minimalistic approach to their music, creating a sound that is fresh and full of joyful lightheartedness. The buzz generated from the few recorded tracks that have been released is well earned, which is embodied most fully in their live performance. Young Coyotes rapped up their 2008 with a spot on a nationwide tour opening for the Gay Blades, as well as a stop at Daytrotter to record a few tracks which should be released in the next month or two. This will be Y
oung Coyotes first headlining show in Boulder, and it promises to be one that no music enthusiast would want to miss.

The show will be held on January 24th, 2009 in Club 156, located in the UMC connection on the first floor of the University Memorial Center. Check out our website, www.programcouncil.com for more information about this show and see other upcoming events on campus.
