So that got me thinking, White Whale, huh….I did some research and was pleasantly surprised. White Whale is the newest group on Merge Records and released their new album WWI and will be touring in support of their album. No fancy descriptions here, just happy rock n roll that doesn’t give away it’s influences. It’s hard to pinpoint them due to their chameleon like adaptation on every song, which is great, nobody wants anything that is going to be boring and predictable. Writers side note (I’m not a huge fan of the art work for their new record and their name, although, I firmly believe that their music can stand on it’s own merits without the kewl band name or kewl artwork, for confirmation see, Mew, and the Mars Volta)
