Tanlines’ tongue in cheek promotion of their latest album, “Highlights,” poking fun at Netflix is an angle not worked by anybody that screams brilliance. All LOLZ aside, the follow up to 2012’s well received album, “Mixed Emotions,” has lived up to the hype and exceeded expectations. The True Panther stalwarts have delivered one of the most slept on releases for 2015 with the tasty sophomore album. Electronic princes, Jesse Cohen and Eric Emm, have developed a robust sound by adding two members to their traveling show that breathed new life into their live set. Friday night’s heavily sold out show at the Larimer Lounge displayed a playful duo enjoying themselves while handling business. Tanlines delivered an assertive performance dropping “Pieces” masterfully early on in their sweaty set while making good with “Slipping Away” and “Invisible Ways” as highlights. Don’t be surprised if the boys come back to town in a larger setting.
