Dogme 95 /Mission Label Goodness

Talk about a slip in the cracks. I have been recently hipped to Dogme 95 and I have this album on heavy rotation. The act consists of Nick Wright from Chicago, who is also in charge of Mission Label. At times I feel as if I’m listening to some Olivia Tremor Control. The next song comes out and I think it maybe listening to some Neutral Milk Hotel. The formula equates to progressive experimental lo-fi moments of brilliance. It is evident who his influences are and Nick is not afraid to display them. I also came across a Demons and Rare Meat Compilation album that includes some of the best acts out right now including Tunde Adebimpe of Tv on the Radio, The Octopus Project and Okkervil River. The Compilation album is also available via the Mission Label. You can buy the aforementioned albums here www.missionlabel.com , and by the way did I mention that both albums have some sick artwork and the Compilation album is only $5. You can shell out a little skrill, because $5 isn’t even going to buy 2 gallons of gas anymore, but it will buy you an hour of some of the best ear candy this side of the Mississippi.
