Two of the most important Texan acts to hit the scene in the last several years collaborated on a joint EP that captures shades of Texas from the Panhandle to the Valley.
We’re talking about the 281 and the 214; acts Khruangbin (Houston) and Leon Bridges (Dallas) shine bright in their joint celebration of all things Tejas in the title track, “Texas Sun.”
In no surprise to anybody, Bridges and the Khruangbin crew make sweet music between the velvet-like vocals gelled with expansive noodling on a piece that feels like the first days of spring.
The one-off project is a partnership between Dead Oceans, Columbia Records, and Night Time Stories LTD. scheduled for release on February 7.
