Fans familiar with Molina might not be aware of the fact that the Danish Chilean artist sings in Spanish.
Especially after her breakout single, “Venus,” the songstress punctuates a synthpop banger with “Parásito.” The accompanying video is all kinds of trippy, but the real MVP is the well-crafted ’80s aesthetic that Rebecca Maria Molina emulates from the days of Rock en Español when Soda Stereo was on the scene with their album “Nada Personal.”
What sets the Latinx artist apart is her imitable voice that is a breathing example of what happens when an art project from a DIY space exists in the form of a song.
Look for TAMBOURHINOCEROS to release Molina’s first EP, “Vanilla Shell,” January 24, 2020.
