Lower Dens are on tour with FM radio darlings Of Monsters and Men that saw the two visit the Mission Ballroom Monday night.

Holding down opening duties is challenging at times, especially when openers and headliners attract fans from opposite ends of the record store. I bring this up because of the indifference demonstrated by a sizable amount of the attendees was clearly evident.

Bands feed off of the electricity in live settings. The anticipation for OMAM was so palpable that it felt like the threesome were never given much of a fair shake.

Lower Den’s Jana Hunter flexed lead vocal duties and acclimated as much as possible in support of the newly released album, “The Competition,” delivered earlier this month.
