Producer Jacques Greene teased us with a new album back in June when he collaborated with hip-hopper Cadence Weapon on “Night Service.”
The follow-up to the downtempo stunner is a ’90s club banger titled “Do It Without You.” Toronto’s wonder producer extraordinaire is scratching the surface of what promises to be a spectacular release. From what we hear, Greene explored methods used by some of his favorite artists to implement in the recording sessions for his new album, “Dawn Chorus.”
My Bloody Valentine was renowned for, as well as a compressor used by French Touch producers Alan Braxe and Fred Falke. Working with mix engineer Joel Ford (of Ford & Lopatin), he created a rule book for the album’s sonics that saw each part, from the drums to the pads, be processed in a specific way, through guitar pedals and outboard equipment.
Look for the Canadian’s second full-length album, “Dawn Chorus,” scheduled to be released via LuckyMe on October 18.
