Tyler Childers is the real deal in the country world.

Childers isn’t trying to be sexy or boast about big ass trucks or tricked-out tractors. The incredibly gifted wordsmith is winnings fans with his grit and salt of the earth sensibilities. Kind of how country artists used to be in the days of Hank and the Carter family.

Fans of Tyler Childers should be chuffed about the news of a new album, “Country Squire,” scheduled for release August 2, because Sturgill Simpson and David Ferguson produced the album at the Butcher Shoppe in Nashville. Simpson cherry-picked the best of the best studio players by including Stuart Duncan (fiddle, mandolin, banjo), Miles Miller (drums, background vocals) and Russ Pahl (acoustic guitar, electric guitar, pedal steel, Jaw harp, baritone).

Watch the “House Fire” video below and try not reaching for the closest bottle of Moonshine or stomp your boots to the beat. TC is scheduled to tour this summer with a visit to Red Rocks that includes proud Texan, Robert Earl Keen.
