Strand of Oaks stopped by the “Late Show” set with Colbert with a full supporting cast.

Timothy Showalter came correct with his national television appearance in NYC with the support of Jason Isbell, Amanda Shires and the good guys over at My Morning Jacket.

Can we make this a permanent super group kind of like the New Pornographers? Amanda Shires’ harmonizing vocals and fiddle playing in last night’s performance coupled with Showalter’s crooning and Jason Isbell’s guitar noodling punctuated the Colbert rendition of “Ruby.”

Strand of Oaks returns with their new album, “Eraserland,” March 22 via Dead Oceans.
