Strand of Oaks returns in 2019 with a new album, “Eraserland,” scheduled for release March 22 via Dead Oceans.

Timothy Showalter brought the band together for the recording of his batch of new material. And by band, we’re taking My Morning Jacket. My Morning Jacket members Carl Broemel, Bo Koster, Patrick Hallahan and Tom Blankenship all assisted with “Eraserland” and a contribution from solo artist and ex-Drive By Trucker, Jason Isbell.

Strand of Oaks teased fans with the first offering with the single, “Weird Ways.” today which firmly displays the strong writing skills from Showalter in a way that is enhanced fully by the MMJ boys.

There’s a slow crescendo that blossoms into a pedal steel tinged beauty that hearkens to the sweet spirit of Springsteen. Look for a full tour to hit the States starting in April.
