Gregory Alan Isakov accidentally creates ad for Colorado Tourism Board

When people think about Colorado, minds immediately rush to the ski slopes of Buttermilk Mountain in Aspen. What outsiders don’t understand is that Colorado is considered a “high desert area” and there’s plenty of the state that’s as flat as Kansas. There’s a portion of the state that’s a statewide secret that is now out in the open thanks to an exceptional Andy Mann directed “San Luis” video by Colorado artist, Gregory Alan Isakov.

“San Luis” is the second track on the latest album titled “Evening Machines” released a couple of weeks ago. Mann depicts the Longmont troubadour in what easily passes as an ad for the Colorado Tourism Board with the majestic beauty of the San Luis Valley. We mean that in the best possible way. After watching this video, my mind raced to see if getting out of the city this weekend for a camping excursion is doable.

Fans may notice the departure in sound by Gregory Alan Isakov on his new album. It doesn’t sound as “precious.” There’s a distinct grit not previously woven into the framework of any of his previous albums.

Catch Isakov on tour through the middle of December on his international tour.
