6 reasons why you should Grandoozy earlier than later

Grandoozy starts tomorrow and if you have your tickets, don’t wait till sundown to saunter down Santa Fe to make your festival appearance known. We’ve outlined two acts Friday – Sunday that is worth venturing out of your comfort zone of brunching hard this weekend and rallying for an early start all weekend long.

Friday

Local act, Flaural, was given the disservice of performing at the earliest time slot in the sweltering heat at 2pm. Forget all of that and ye shall be rewarded by a haunting display of what a hypnotic kaleidoscope sounds like manifested to sound.

Don’t leave yet. Stay put at the Scissor Stage for the sounds of solo artist, Jade Bird. The British songwriter is prepping her debut full length, but she’s touring on the strength of her critically acclaimed EP, “Something American.” This would be a good time to seek shelter in the shade by one of those trees on the golf course before you wear yourself out.

Saturday

Cherry Glazerr brings their brand of gutter rock early Saturday afternoon from Los Angeles that will be the most rollicking shredding you’ll see all day on Saturday. To offset the in your face rocking, Poolside is the answer. The SoCal duo will create a mirage that will make you feel their lounge like vibes while sipping a Paloma by the side of a pool.

Sunday

By this time, the sunburn on your shoulders and the callouses on your feet probably don’t feel very good. You’re in the homestretch here and the pysch-rock jamming of Dragondeer sets off your docket early. The liklihood of a marijuana cigarette being passed your way is extremely high during this set.

DC native, Kelela, wraps up our must see early acts of the Grandoozy weekend. The solo artist known for her eclectic blend of soul and electronic tendencies as heard on her debut album, “Take Me Apart.”
