RÜFÜS DU SOL just dropped what easily passes as the latest commercial promoting the latest Lexus speedster in the middle of a hot ass desert with their newest video for “No Place.” Tyrone Lindqvist, Jon George and James Hunt pick up where they left off from their 2016 album, “Bloom,” with news of a third release scheduled for a fall delivery with the title, “Solace.”
The Australian trio look to take their level of kinetic energy to the next plateau with a relentless tour starting late October that sees the trio play the largest venues to date with a two-night stint in Denver over at the Fillmore Auditorium.
There’s a lot to digest with the “No Place” video that it’s best to leave it to director Alex George to explain:
In the video, the robes are a way of travel… through time and dimensions. We don’t know. It’s that feeling of when you’re at the beach and you’re rugged up in a towel with just the sun peeking through. There is something about that feeling. About being in yourself and being somewhere very specific. I think I’m only recently starting to understand real gratitude. It always felt like this feeling you had to feel when someone gives you something. But it snuck up on me. What that feeling actually is. That’s what the song is about to me. Realizing out of all the infinite possibilities and places you could be, you are here. And it’s great.
