By all accounts, this past Saturday should’ve been a torrential downpour for the Above & Beyond show at Red Rocks according to the local meteorologists. The stage was set with cold temperatures, ominous clouds, slight breeze and a constant mist that never really dissipated. But none of that mattered. In a euphoric night in one of the most legendary venues of the world, Above & Beyond put forth a festival performance in lieu of not performing at Global Dance Festival in 2018.

On paper, it seems like a fair tradeoff. Afterall, who wants to be sandwiched in a cluster of acts on a ridiculously hot stage set in the parking lot of a NFL football stadium? Of course all of the flashing lights, cool LED presentations and smoke machines made their requisite presence known in a chilly spring evening on the sacred ground of Red Rocks.

But it wasn’t necessarily all about those effects, because it was the crowd that made Saturday night special. Anjunabeats’ own delivered their goods, but it was through the kinetic energy relayed by the throbbing beats that fed a frantic crowd that created a memorable evening in support of the 2018 album, “Common Ground.” Don’t miss Above & Beyond on tour on one of their many dates listed below.
