If there was ever a match made in the cosmos of the indie universe, it would’ve been Pavement’s Stephen Malkmus and Sonic Youth’s Kim Gordon. We’ll just have to settle for a collaboration on the upcoming Jicks‘ album, “Sparkle Hard,” with the twangy number “Refute.” The last time Malkmus broke out the straw hat was “Father to a Sister of Thought,” which was the best single on the 1995 album, “Wowee Zowee.”
