Vince Staples is dead set on putting Long Beach County back on the map. The west coast artist brought his supporting crew with Ray J, Damon Albarn and Kilo Kish to the “Tonight Show” with Jimmy Fallon. Of course the Roots were on hand to lend support as well, but gotdammit if Kilo Kish didn’t steal the show.
Staples is celebrating the release of the monstrous project, “Big Fish Theory.” Vince bites hard on UK house and ’90s club culture with some of the beats throughout the album in a victorious manner.
As for now, the versatile artist is scheduled to hit the road with Gorillaz in an opening spot capacity that will see him in Red Rocks mid-September. You may notice an obvious nod to the sea with the name of his new album and tour, “The Life Aquatic Tour.” Either that, or he loves Wes Anderson a whole hell of a lot.
