Music on late night television couldn’t seriously get any hotter with a 1-2 punch from Gorillaz (w/Stephen Colbert) and LCD Soundsystem with the home field advantage over at “SNL.”At a time when Tuck Buckford Stephen Colbert could be scurrying away from his remarks on 45, the late night pundit doubled down and sat in on Gorillaz’ Friday night performance of “Feel Good Inc” filling in for De La Soul. The cartoon(ish) act played nearly 30 minutes over at the Ed Sullivan Theatre that you can watch below.

Fans received their wish last week in the form of two singles presumably taken from a new album possibly slated before year’s end. LCD Soundsystem flexed their muscles as they debuted for the first time on “Saturday Night Live” playing the new jams, “Call the Police” and “American Dream.” Two fitting song titles in today’s divisive social climate.
