Life takes some funny turns. I lost my uncle to a battle of misdiagnosed liver cancer. I’m grateful for this uncle on many levels. It was because of him that I was introduced to the sense of humor that I have. We watched “Alf” on NBC when the comedy show premiered and exposed me to “Monty Python.” Uncle Jesse introduced me to music. His vinyl collection consisted of the Beatles. Therefore my first foray into music was nothing but “Help.”

I’ve learned in the last couple of weeks that you don’t take things for granted. Cherish your family and friends. Go the extra mile.
