Four collaborations that may or may not happen in 2017

Collaborations in the music industry is very hit or very miss. Take the time Jay-Z hooked up with Linkin Park, versus the time HOV teamed up with Kanye West. Depending on preferences, you probably aligned with the “Watch the Throne” release.

2017 barely started and collaborations and rumors of collaborations are percolating fairly rapidly. Alicia Keys and Canadian producer, Kaytranada released a heater of a single today with their drop of “Sweet F’n Love.” The title leaves much to be desired, but the toned down production is shimmery without going overboard in a way that leaves Keys’ velvety voice as the main focal point.

An Instagram photo of Chance the Rapper and Donald Glover (aka Childish Gambino) surfaced recently, begging the questions, “When is the mixtape coming out?” The two have worked together in the past, and the idea doesn’t seem so far fetched. Especially when you see the two on Chano’s IG feed with the catpion, “Hawaii then LA, back to work. #roscoeswetsuit ”

According to a report from Fader, West Coasters Flying Lotus and Anderson .Paak have something cooked up that will probably see the light of day this year. Flying Lotus confirmed via Twitter that the highly experimental producer and the cerebral hip hop lyricist laid down a track.

There’s been rumors of Kanye West and Drake working together to bring a mixtape out to fans reminiscent of when OVO’s head man and Future dropped their game changing release. At this point, we have confirmation from Kanye, but nothing further.
