Many people are of the mindset that 2016 was a crap year. It may feel that way with the recent news of so many high profiled entertainers passing away, but without sounding the least bit harsh, people die everyday. Although, Princess Leia dying made it hit close to home. She was the ultimate rebel in the “Star Wars” series. A true badass and an integral character of the legendary saga. There wasn’t that many female heroes in movies back in the day.

The US presidential election results echo the general sentiment that 2016 was/is a shit year.

Here’s the deal. I am going to try harder than before to make sure that I stay “woke” at every turn. I promise to fight for what I believe in on a local and national level. This isn’t one of those lists that people make at the beginning of the year where they resolve to “eat better” or “hit the gym.”

I haven’t been this motivated since “W’s” first election win versus Al Gore. Let’s be better people. It doesn’t cost us anything extra.
