Most sequels nowadays usually lay a turd sandwich. These projects are churned out by Hollywood producers without hesitation. Danny Boyle has other plans. Mid ’90s cult classic film, “Trainspotting,” depicts a band of misfits addicted to heroin that love a good time and getting into trouble. The film launched the careers of Ewan McGregor and Danny Boyle. Not to mention that it also resurrected Iggy Pop in the process. The independent film boasted such a strong soundtrack, that a second one was released. And for good reason, the movie accentuated the big beat movement of the time with acts like Underworld and Goldie blazing the trail.

In the promising trailer, Mark picks up where he left off as a conflicted individual that brings the self loathing characters back to their rightful places in life struggling with addiction. Boyle brings lots of promise with his latest offering. It’ll be curious to see what acts are included on the sequel’s soundtrack.
