Not much is going with the Strokes, unless you count Julian Casablancas’ weirdo side project. Of all the Strokes side gigs, guitarist Nick Valensi’s CRX (not to be confused with the cult Honda vehicle of yesteryear) act has the feels of the most successful one to date. Upon listening to the bone-crushing single, “Broken Bones,” you get the immediate feeling that Queens of the Stone Age ringleader, Josh Homme, had a hand in the project. Homme produced the debut album “New Skin” scheduled for release October 28 via Columbia Records.
The soft spoken Valensi and crew took to Jimmy Kimmel most recently and look to start off their tour here in Denver at the Larimer Lounge (see dates below) next month.
