The godfather of Mexican ranchera music, Vicente Fernández, isn’t sitting idly on the sidelines this US presidential election. Despite being a Mexican citizen and having no real horse in the race, the iconic voice of the Spanish speaking population is doing his duty to pull his weight behind Democratic candidate, Hillary Clinton, in an effort to avert a catastrophic World War III. This is the first time “Chente” has ever put his neck on the line for any politico north of the border with “El Corrido de Hillary Clinton.”

What’s curious is the fact that Fernández used one of his old songs, “Los Mandados,” and changed the lyrics to create the campaign song. In the video, the sombrero toting voice of reason stated he would visit La Hillary at the White House upon her winning the coveted presidency.
