Fans clamored for a Radiohead contribution to the last Daniel Craig James Bonde flick, “Spectre.” Inevitably, the guys in film marketing opted to go with a more welcoming artist that isn’t as polarizing. Enter stage right, Sam Smith. Not to be left out in the cold this holiday season, Thom Yorke and company released their submission as a Christmas gift for all to enjoy with their James Bond inspired tune, “Spectre.” It is rumored that LP number 9 for the UK rock royalty is on the way for 2016. Don’t be surprised if the boys drop it out of nowhere on January 1st. Yorke took to Twitter with his $0.02 on the James Bond matter:
“Last year we were asked to write a tune for Bond movie Spectre. Yes we were.” he tweeted. “It didn’t work out … but became something of our own which we love very much … As the year closes we thought you might like to hear it. Merry Christmas. May the force be with you.”
And there you have it. In a parallel universe, “Spectre,” IS soundtracked by Radiohead and not Sam Smith.
