Ryan Adams was totally serious about covering Taylor Swift’s “1989”

Ryan Adams

Most of us thought that Ryan Adams was joking around when he said that he was dropping a full cover albums of Taylor Swift’s best selling album, “1989.” Hell, he even tweeted about recording the album:

Some people get over divorce in many different ways. The ex-Whiskeytown frontman has gone the way of using music to cure his wounded heart. Ryan Adams took kindly to Taylor Swift’s shimmery album, “1989.” Today, Zane Lowe with Beats Radio dropped “Bad Blood,” the first taste off of the forthcoming covers album scheduled for release September 21 via Adams’ record label, PAX-AM Records.

“Bad Blood” in the vein of T-Swizzle is a song of vengeance, and anger of biblical proportions (Old Testament). The ex-Mr. Mandy Moore delivered on his word with a throwback to the days when the venerable singer-songwriter was churning out made for television music for young adult shows on the WB (now the CW) such as “Everwood.” A softer Ryan Adams where he wasn’t as jaded with his latest efforts with Cardinals and solo material. The 80s arcade loving troubadour appears to be coming full circle with his new covers album, and hopefully, we might get that Whiskeytown reunion.
