U2 Short Film “Song for Someone” starring Woody Harrelson

As much trash as people talk about not wanting U2 on their iPhones or the size of Bono’s inflated ego, there’s a whole heck of a lot more people that love the Irish gents showing up in droves on their sold out “iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE” tour. In dramatic fashion, Edge and the guys have released a short film for “Song for Someone” taken off of “Songs of Innocence” to accompany the Sundance series, “Rectify.” Woody Harrelson and real life child, Zoe, portray a father daughter duo that are parted by the bars of prison presumably for many years soon to be reunited after years of imprisonment. The touching clip is along the same lines as the Sundance series that depicts the struggle of death row inmate Daniel Holden and family with life upon release into general population. Try to fight back the tears during the reunion of Woody and Zoe in a gentle display of vulnerability in a heart tugging scene that brilliantly uses no music and rests on the laurels of true human emotion.
