It was only a matter time until we received a collaboration from two of the most successful producers from Mexico to create a new hybrid of dance music. Mexican Institute of Sound joined forces with Toy Selectah to create a new legion of boom with their new project, Compass. Sounds of my family’s homeland come to together to create a hybrid of mariachi, cumbia and hip hop to drop one of the more curious sounding alliances dropped via Diplo’s label, Mad Decent. Look for a slew of artists to appear on their forthcoming album ranging from: Boy George, Toots & The Maytals, Sly & Robbie, Mc Lyte, Nina Sky, Crystal Fighters, Kool A.D. of Das Racist and Cornelius.
