Mexicans love Morrissey. We adore the Smiths and all things Moz. So it should come as no surprise that a full tribute to one of the most influential British acts to grace the planet come to fruition. Camilo Lara (Mexico Institute of Sound) has wrangled Ceci Bastida, Jay de la Cueva (Moderatto), Ricardo Najera (Furland), Sergio Mendoza (Calexico) and Jacob Valenzuela (Calexico) to create Mexrrissey, a Mexican Morrissey tribute band. The tunes of Mozzer to the sounds of south of the border. Only two dates have been announced, New York and Los Angeles, but let’s hope that more dates are announced.
