José González has taken a breather from Junip and hit the road on his solo tour to plug his latest album, “Vestiges and Claws” released earlier this year. The soft spoken Argentinean troubadour is touring with a sizable backing band on a US tour of solo material. Fans have waited eight years since the release of “In Our Nature” in 2007 to catch a glimpse of previous work. González captivated the sold out crowd with his soft spoken voice and humble demeanor in a set that featured several covers. Namely, Kylie Minogue’s “Hand on Your Heart” that gave everybody a good case of the feels. José covered familiar territory, reaching back to old fan favorite, “Crosses,” and hit a fever pitch with “Stories We Build, Stories We Tell.” A visceral scene indeed, given the minimalist angle that the Swede works so hard to maintain. Look for González to perform at a taping of E-Town tonight in Boulder, and if you don’t have a ticket yet, you’re out of luck. SOLD OUT!
