Public Enemy and the Roots “Public Enemy No. 1”

FLAVOR FLAVV!!!!! The Public Enemy rabble-rouser and company brought to arms a full fledged assault to the “Tonight Show” stage with an assist from house band, the Roots. Flav and Chuck D. provided the perfect one two counter-punch in “Public Enemy #1” in celebration of Def Jam Records’ 30th anniversary. The message from the quintessential rap from thirty years ago has yet to lose its’ power and effectiveness as the veracity still rings true after the genre has experienced a multitude of changes. For those that didn’t get lost in the message, the army soldiers standing watch on stage for added effect should’ve done the trick. After the many social missteps by Flavor Flav throughout the years in his foray into reality television, we forget how prolific of a rally man he served as the focal point of Public Enemy.
