I guess that’s that. Cedric Bixler-Zavala had a “heart to heart” with fans yesterday about the ultimate demise of the Mars Volta. The other vital half of TMV, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, appeared to have been over the extended proggy jams with his newfound interest in music with Les Butcherettes and Ximena Sarinara. The good news is that in the end, fans might end up as winners. Cedric said via Twitter, “And for the record I’m still in love with ATDI.” So if we’re lucky, the rest of At the Drive-In will find and good/willing axeman to fill in for Omar and tour. The other side to that coin is that Bosnian Rainbows ends up being a swilring success. The ride was good while it lasted.

  1. Thanks for sharing this, Julio! I would’ve missed it. Meanwhile, Ikey Owens is right here in Denver, working with Rubedo on their next record. 🙂
